Hi. My name is Kelly, I teach digital media and web development in the California Community College system. When you're reading this, I'm most likely sitting at a computer either working on great25 or answering student questions. Over the years I have seen many people, of all ages and careers, start small businesses, work side gigs as a second income, work from home with small kids, or struggle to market their music, pottery, paintings, and ideas. I get a lot of requests for "how-to" and I see a lot of great freelance artists/designers/developers and small business owners look for new ways to get the word out about their work.

It's great fun to create, it's a lot of work to stay current with technology. So, we started great25 to support the quest for promoting and learning. At the same time, as a family, we like to explore new places and decided a few years ago to find great things to do that cost $25, 25€, or less per person. Our results exceeded our expectations and led to great adventure, fun, and memories. We had so many fantastic times we decided to share them in the best way we know, on the web.

Here we are then, at great25. Our purpose is: 1) to promote great things to do that cost $25, 25€, and less, 2) to offer learning, in the form of tutorials we call learningbytes offered free (later we'll offer low-priced tutorials and classes), and 3) to support all of us who are cooking, painting, practicing, raising money, setting up, and all of the many other creative or logistical things we do to express ourselves and market our ideas.

Thanks, Kelly Carey
